Some Book Link Updates

Some book link updates and other news...

I'm looking forward to see you at Cleveland Concoction in March. Fingers crossed the weather for traveling that weekend is good and the highways clear of snow!

I really hate posting links to third party sellers, but since our publisher, eXtasy Books, has stopped selling books from their web site directly, this is what we authors forced to do.

Here are the links at Amazon for my and my co-author Adrian J. Matthew's BloodDark series of books:

Here's the link for my stand alone novel (at this time--I really wanted to write more in this universe and perhaps I will some day):

If you see any other places where our books are being sold online, please feel free to send me the links so I can share them with others. Thank you!

Yes, I'm still writing fiction...

I've been derelict in updating my web pages, and for that I do sincerely apologize.  Here are my latest two releases, one an original story in the Divorced Divas series from eXtasy Books (written as Celine Chatillon), and the other the re-release of our YA sci-fi tale in the BloodDark series from Devine Destinies.

Olivia's Escape
(BloodDark series, Young adult- PG rated)
http://www.devinedestinies.com/978-1-4874-2127-4-olivias-escape/?fbclid=IwAR2WoJp1dIZ1t1wV2YgblYLo8l6paYPCC-v9oS4HrX2YDvstGCYS8HRyu1E

Seventeen-year-old Olivia Brown is abducted on her way home from a night out and wakes up to find herself imprisoned by a vampiric race in a dark city bathed in eternal night. Hernando, a handsome half-human slave, reveals what is intended for her-they want her blood for the upcoming festival. Together they escape, and find friends and allies in unexpected places.

Joining a resistance cell, they help plot a revolution and fall in love. Their group plans to take control of the Portal, a teleportation device that links Earth to the world of BloodDark. Getting into the City of Night is a challenge. A narrow window of opportunity opens-but what awaits them in the caverns located deep beneath the city?

What Money Can't Buy
(Divorced Divas series -- R rated)
https://www.extasybooks.com/978-1-4874-2347-6-what-money-cant-buy/

Francesca has had enough of her dead-end marriage. She walks out with no regrets and in hopes of discovering what will make her life more fulfilling. Following her passions for gardening and sustainable living, she enrolls in a course to learn more and collides head-on with a handsome Irishman, Callan O'Toole. Callan challenges her to apply for a summer internship at the Bouncing Butterfly eco-village. She does and is overjoyed to be accepted.

Working so close to a man who fills her every erotic daydream is a bit more than Francesca can take at first, so she tries to avoid Callan. He won't cooperate—and soon they are in each other's arms and in Callan's bed. Their summer lovin' is approved of by all, but Francesca doesn't want to become a permanent villager simply because she’s Callan's partner. She wants to be invited to live there on her own terms. Besides, her parents and her boss are waiting back in the city for her to return and take up her former existence. Can Francesca have it all—a lover, a career, and most importantly, what money can't buy?

Another Publisher Is Gone

My apologies for not posting sooner. I had every intention of posting excerpts from my two recent releases, but now there's no reason to. Sigh!

Yet again, we've lost another publisher. Desert Breeze Publishing is closing their doors. Amazon and the economy destroys millions of lives, and we "mid-list authors" are often left in the lurch.

They're closing very quickly, so if you wish to buy any of my Desert Breeze Publishing titles (these include Adrian's and my young adult sci-fi BloodDark Series of 4 books now) please do so before June 30th. This includes my three stand alone novels written under my Cynthianna pen name as well. Check the gorgeous cover art (also going away soon) and synopses at my web sites of http://www.cynthianna.com and http://blooddarkbooks.blogspot.com

I'm heartbroken and feeling lost once again. I received the rights back to my novels from another publisher that folded and just recently had them re-published with Desert Breeze, a very professional small press. It's like losing a family member.

I will post the cover art here for my three romance novels that will soon be gone. (Unless you'd like to help me purchase the right to the cover art. I'm not  into "vanity publishing," but I do like the cover art and the artists did such a great job. Donations accepted at http://paypal.me/camatthews) Perhaps my books will be re-re-published again someday. I try to remain optimistic, but when publishers who have been around over a decade are folding/closing down, it's difficult.

The BloodDark series I hope will live on and increase in number. Be on the look out for them once we've secured a new home for them. Until then, please take care of your mid-list authors. Buy, read and review their books. You never know when it'll be too late to help them out with a sale or two or an encouraging words. Encouraging words can do wonders for a fragile author's ego.
P.S. Another publisher is gone. Ironic, isn't it, for you to buy our books in print/Kindle formats our publisher was dependent on the instrument of their--and so many small publishers'--deaths. But Amazon is a monopoly, and like all monopolies, their job is to put all competition out of business. Of course, once all competition is gone, they are free to publish or not publish as they see fit. They might not like science fiction or YA or romance novels, for example. It's called economic censorship, and you, the readers, are the biggest losers at the end of the day.

Halloween Flash Fiction!

I wrote a flash fiction piece from a prompt for fellow author Kate Hill for her Halloween blog promo. Turns out she only wanted one line! So below the cover advert is the rest of this short, short story for your Halloween "horror" entertainment. Enjoy! (P.S. It's not all that scary--this is my PG rated persona writing, after all.)

Our latest book in the BloodDark trilogy--SF adventure for all ages! From Desert Breeze Publishing and available online at Amazon.

The Bus
by Cynthianna

On a cold, dark night, you're alone at a bus stop when your cell phone rings and the caller ID says it's your boyfriend, so you answer it. The voice on the other end isn't his... In fact, it's not even a voice but the sound a puppy whimpering.  It sounds like your dog.

"Is that you Rex? How did you get out of your crate--and how the heck did you call me on Danny's phone?" The bus pulls up and the door opens. "Don't worry. I'll be home soon."

You enter the bus and sit down as it pulls away from the curb. Strange, it's empty. Usually there's a few other souls riding the route, coming off of second shift work about the same time you do, but tonight you have the bus all to yourself. Blinking, you notice there's no bus driver either. The vehicle is driving itself, and you know your city is too cheap to buy a self-driving bus.

"Oh, no... Get me out of here!" You rush to the back door, ready to disembark the moment the bus stops at a light, but it only speeds up. This is your worst nightmare--being trapped on a speeding bus. It reminds you of that movie with Keanu Reeves, the one Danny loves watching over and over again on your big screen TV while you and your faithful dog Rex silently fume at the imposition.

With a sudden jerk you're thrown forward and hit your head against the back of a seat. Minutes later you slowly open your eyes and look up, puzzled to see you're now at home, in your apartment, lying on the sofa next to your boyfriend as he watches television.

"Man, you missed all the good parts," Danny says as he picks up the remote and starts flipping channels. "Good thing you're awake now. I think Rex needs a walk before bedtime."

"You take him," you say to Danny, patting your pup on the head. "I don't think I can go out again tonight. I'm coming down with something... Something I caught on the bus."

Book 3 is now here--can you help us decide which cover is best?

Our latest in the BloodDark Series...

Book 3 in the "Olivia's Trilogy"

Olivia's Decision
http://www.desertbreezepublishing.com/blooddark-book-three-olivias-decision-epub/  and also available at Amazon.

Olivia's chance to prove herself as a spy hasn't gone well. She knows the handsome vampire Moreau is up to something. With the assistance of Kate and Mahvet, Olivia solves the mystery of the rogue Portal and Clan Alpha's illegal artwork sales, then escapes with the help of Valori, whose growing telekinetic powers prove frightening.

Hernando is hurt by Olivia's lie, but there's too much at stake to remain mad for long. Even Olivia learns to trust the Pure Bloods. They travel with the ruling council by airship to the Alphans' defensive weapon constructed with materials bought from billionaire Roland Grundfest. She senses the true invaders are Earthmen who've stolen BloodDark's technology for their own purposes. Olivia is torn between Earth and the world and peoples she's come to love. Will a climactic encounter in the desert decide Olivia's--and BloodDark's--fate once and for all?

Read an excerpt at The World of BloodDark web site.

Books 1 and 2, Olivia's Escape and Olivia's Return, are  available in e-book and print from Desert Breeze Publishing, Amazon and other fine online book sellers. Read more about them at The World of BloodDark.

We're trying to decide which cover to use on promotional materials for this trilogy (as other stories set on BloodDark are forthcoming). Which one of the three covers "speaks" to you the most? Why do you think it works best? Let us know in the comments below. Thank you.
